Her Clutterbug Method is more like a scale and less like fitting you into a specific category, but knowing where your style falls is beneficial to maintaining a tidy home. Although this method may seem far-fetched, there is something to be said for keeping items that bring happiness to your home. Tidying Up with Marie Kondo also introduced the KonMari method of organizing, which will make your closets and drawers look flawless. This bingeable show is just another example of how people organize differently. 

In addition to Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, her second show Sparking Joy, helps viewers get organized in all areas of their lives. Sometimes we forget there are more than just closets and pantries that need our attention, and Marie Kondo tackles those other areas.

The Minimalists: Less is Now

While not everyone can live a minimalist lifestyle to the extreme, we agree that having less in your life makes for a better living environment. In The Minimalists: Less is Now, Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus take viewers on an extreme journey in just under an hour to showcase how becoming minimalists changed their lives. 

Throughout the documentary, viewers hear from both experts and everyday minimalists about how living with less is necessary in such a cluttered, noisy world. They get you thinking about what is essential versus accumulated stuff.

Becoming a minimalist may seem like an extreme approach. However, the documentary is eye-opening and raw in showing how many people tend to overcompensate their lives with stuff instead of focusing on binging the things that matter most: time in nature, moments with family, etc.

Hoarders

We have to mention Hoarders, a binge-worthy show that covers what happens when clutter gets out of control. If you are looking for perspective on your own home, consider what happens when piles of stuff become a floor-to-ceiling disaster. 

Shows like Hoarders shed light on tough situations and prove to people there is help out there for them. While many viewers may be sitting back watching what looks like a trainwreck, other people struggle daily with this very issue.

Unfortunately, hoarding is nothing to joke around about, and it can become a serious problem that plagues people. Mess and clutter are one thing, but hoarding is an entirely different situation. Typically, a regular professional organizer usually cannot work with hoarders.
