WELCOME TO THE BLOG
I love teaching clients about strategies they can use to improve their everyday quality of life. The interesting phenomena that continues to happen is that I learn something from each of them as well. One of my favorites was a quote that a client just shared as we were unpacking her new loft apartment downtown Denver. As the words came out of her mouth a little mantra was born in my mind. Little by little and all at once.
So very true. Sometimes overwhelmed clients call us about a project or a space that they just can’t get their head around- and the energy to complete it seems overwhelming. And now I share this with them as well. It happens on every overwhelming task I tackle... and it holds true every time. The big, scary mess requires one foot in front of the other... little by little and just keep going. At some point there will always come a time that the end is in sight and the energy shifts. And before you know it- all at once the end has come!
It reminds me of lego sets with my son when he was younger. All those little pieces waiting to be matched. They understand progress because they have broken the task into smaller pieces that lend themselves to a sense of accomplishment and celebration. Big organizing projects are the same. We come and break the whole task into smaller parts. Create a structure and make it happen. Piece by piece.
So, hang in there on your next big project. Keep in mind that it is little by little that we finally get to the good stuff- and all at once it happens. They key is celebrating the success when you get there. And always asking for help when you need it. You’ve got this!
