WELCOME TO THE BLOG

You just got the keys to your new home! Whether you’re upgrading for a growing family, downsizing to simplify, or finally settling into your dream space, the excitement is real (and so is the chaos).
In this post, I’m sharing my best tips to help you move easier, unpack quicker, and stress a whole lot less…
Tip #1: Declutter Before Packing
You don’t want to haul box after box of stuff you don’t even want into your new home. There’s nothing worse than unpacking and realizing half of what you moved could’ve been donated weeks ago.
Decluttering before you move saves you time, energy, and a whole lot of unnecessary lifting, not to mention additional moving costs!

Keep your supplies together by creating a portable bin with all your moving essentials in one spot. Think packing tape, scissors, Sharpies, cleaning wipes, a box cutter, and maybe some colorful stickers for labeling. That way, you’re not tearing through boxes every time you need something.
You can just grab your bin and keep moving. And when you hire Organized By Keli, our team comes prepared with a fully stocked Pack or Unpack Kit (depending on which stage we’re helping with), complete with all these essentials and more.

Make your move smoother by using colorful labels to keep boxes from the same room together. Think blue for the living room, yellow for the kitchen, pink for the primary bedroom, and so on. When everything is labeled in the same color and clearly written down, it’s so much easier to know exactly where each box belongs.
Our professional organizers even use branded Organized By Keli box labels, which we clearly and specifically label so everything ends up exactly where it’s supposed to be and is easy to find once unpacking.

Don’t forget to pack a dedicated “essentials” bag with everything you’ll need during the move, like a wallet or purse, toothbrush, toiletries, medications, pajamas, pet food, or any valuable or sensitive items you'd like to handle yourself.
Keep it with you instead of loading it on the moving truck so you’re not digging through boxes at midnight looking for your toothpaste. A little preparation here goes a long way toward a smoother first night in your new home.

Declutter before you move to save time, energy, and money—don’t waste effort packing and unpacking items you no longer want.
Stay organized with a grab-and-go moving kit that keeps packing supplies like tape, markers, and labels in one place.
Color-code and clearly label your boxes so unpacking is quick and efficient once you’re in your new home.
Pack an essentials bag with must-haves like toiletries, medications, and pet supplies to make your first night in your new space stress-free.

Until next time,
